Transition Towns

Here in Italy we are witnessing the birth of the first Transition Towns  (transition of course refers to the moving form an oil-dependent world to a post-oil society, as our blog says).

Born 3 years ago from an idea of Rob Hopkins and applied in the English town of “Totnes” (Devon), the concept has rapidly begun spreading internationally.

In Italy, the first Transition Town is “Monteveglio”, in the province of Bologna. The news has also appeared on National TV (Report on Rai 3 channel) with a television special. Other towns in Italy are approaching the idea of “transition”.

We will talk about this again soon, here on the blog, and more in depth.
